About Me

Hometown: Fort Collins, Colorado

When I started doing hair: 1985

When I started at The Parlour: 1989

What inspires/motivates me in the industry:

What motivates me at this point in my career is the amazing relationships I have built with my clients and the great staff that works in Fort Collins. I enjoy the immediate results that an hour can make in a persons appearance and the way in which it makes them feel.

What I am happiest doing:

I enjoy being able to work at The Parlour, and the opportunity to surround myself in a pleasant environment with great co-workers. But when a day comes to an end, I love being with my family . I love the simple things in life. Taking a walk with my husband and dog in the evening and watching an episode of Modern Family is a perfect end to a day. I feel that I have a perfect balance with work and home.

Additional industry involvement:

I have been doing hair since 1985 and I have been involved in many facets of the hair industry. At this time in my career I enjoy my clients and the relationships I have built with them. The Parlour allows all of us that work there the opportunity to take advantage of classes or any on going education that we would like to get involved in.

What I love most about The Parlour:

I love what the Parlour has created. I have seen The Parlour evolve from day one. We opened in Boulder with a staff of four and one assistant. The Parlour now has 8 locations . It is amazing how many hair salons open and then soon close. The Parlour is doing it right by focusing on the client and the emphasis on a good education to build an amazing career. How lucky I have been to watch and be a part of.

What else you should know about me:

I became a part owner with Gene when Fort Collins opened. What a great opportunity for me.

Part of the original three Parlour employees, Michelle has been a godsend to me.  We benchmark three areas we consider crucial to our success. We hope for everyone to be strong in one. Michelle hits all three all the time and it’s easier to get an appointment with the Pope than it is to get an appointment with Michelle during the holidays! Because of Michelle and the kindness of her parents, Bill and Dorothy, our business model was formed. The same one we still believe in today. Many thanks to you and your family!
