The Parlour Castle Rock
When I started doing hair: 1984
When I started at The Parlour: 2019
What inspires/motivates me in the industry:
Over the years the two main factors that have allowed me to become a better hairstylist are Creativity and Education. I have been able to use my artistic background to analyze shapes, tones and face shapes to create a unique but dynamic, personalized look for each client. Very few stylists continue their education after finishing cosmetology school. I have continued my education on a global scale and have been both the student and the educator. Staying current on the latest trends and techniques allows me to optimize the possibilities with my client’s hair. Depending on your lifestyle and individual desires, a wonderful transformation is possible with a precision haircut and beautiful, dimensional color. My goal is for you to look in the mirror and not only love your hair, but also feel confident and ready to face the world! As hairstylists, we can change people’s lives in both a personal and professional way. There is no better way to feel motivated within your profession than to see the huge smile and gratitude from my client at the end of a service.
What I am happiest doing:
I have a service dog named Ollie. We visit hospitals and nursing homes where he brings a little joy and light into what otherwise is a difficult time in people’s lives. I have seven children and a husband (so perhaps that makes eight children) and I live in Castle Rock. I try and hit the gym 5 times a week and enjoy yoga. I like to hike, travel and enjoy life to the fullest.
Additional industry involvement:
I am a Vidal Sassoon Trained Hairstylist. A Certified Master Colorist with Alfaparf, Milan and a Certified Redken Colorist.
I have been mentored and coached by Vidal Sassoon, TonI & Guy and Chris Sorbey amongst others, in London, Paris, New York and California.
What I love most about The Parlour:
Having seen a lot of different salons over the years, I have to say the education program at The Parlour is the best I have seen. For young stylist entering into the industry, to be able to have that level of coaching and mentoring will allow them to not only be the best stylist, but also the best person they can be.
What else you should know about me:
I specialize in the ‘Bob’ haircut. Known to be the hardest haircut in the industry, I have perfected this over the years and my clients are delighted to receive multiple compliments on their haircut.
