The Parlour LoDo
When I started doing hair: 2003
When I started at The Parlour: 2005
What inspires/motivates me in the industry:
I am grateful to be in an industry that encourages personal expression and growth. I am inspired by its ever evolving trends and technology. My clients motivate me to be the best stylist I can be.
What I am happiest doing:
I am happiest in life making people smile. Whether through a great haircut, vibrant color, or as a performer, my goal is to create a sense of joy, wonder and excitement.
Additional industry experience:
“During her time at the Parlour, Chelsa Joy was an educator, teaching assistant stylists advanced color techniques, as well as the Boulder Artistic Director in charge of all fashion and editorial work. She spent 2 years as the lead hair and make up artist for the Boulder Women’s Magazine. In an article they featured her in, she was hailed as a “master of her trade”. The Westword also featured her in an article in 2015 saying, “Joy exemplifies the fusion of fashion and art into one creative lifestyle.””
What I love most about The Parlour:
I equally love the education program and the sense of community and family created with-in The Parlour. Learning from experienced stylists as an apprentice and growing to then teach the next generation creates a strong bond between student and teacher and counteracts rivalry and competition. When one succeeds, we all succeed.
What else you should know about me:
I am a well rounded stylist that can satisfy both the conservative business woman, the edgy counter culture girl, and everything in between.
