The color services we offer in Capitol Hill

We try to keep our menu honest and specific so you can tell what you’re booking.

Root retouch (from $84). A clean refresh of your existing color at the root line. Best every 4 to 6 weeks for most people, though that varies with your natural color, how much regrowth bothers you, and how much gray you’re working with.

All-over color (from $97). A single shade applied throughout. Good for going darker, going richer, evening out faded ends, or shifting your base tone.

Partial highlights (from $140 maintenance, from $154 virgin). Highlights placed around the face, part, and crown for brightness where it shows most. “Virgin” pricing applies the first time we lighten a section.

Full highlights (from $154 maintenance, from $167 virgin). Highlights through the full head for more lift and movement.

Dimensional color, baby lights, teasy lights, foilyage, root shadow (from $167). Different placement techniques to add depth, softness, or a more lived-in grow-out. We’ll talk through which one fits your goals at the consult.

Money piece and face-framing brightness. Often added to a highlight service or done on its own for a low-commitment change.

Retouch with dimension (from $194). Your regular retouch plus a foil refresh in the same visit so the dimension doesn’t fade out between appointments.

Gray blending and full gray coverage. Two different goals. Blending uses highlights and lowlights to soften the gray into your natural color so the grow-out is gentle. Full coverage masks the gray completely. Both are valid; the right one depends on how much gray you have and how often you want to come in.

Tone, glaze, gloss (priced by consultation). A finishing service that shifts warmth, kills brass, or adds shine. Often added to other color work; sometimes booked on its own between appointments.

Color correction and creative or transformational color (priced by consultation). When you’re moving across a big distance (dark to blonde, box dye to balanced, an unwanted tone you want gone) we quote it in person because every head of hair tells us a different story.

For freehand, painted balayage and modern blonding specifically, we have a dedicated page.

The stylists doing your color

Every colorist at The Parlour finishes our Advanced Education Program after beauty school. It runs 6 to 12 months and includes in-house training plus two annual events with guest artists who work at the top of the industry. After that, stylists start at Level 1 and grow into higher levels as their clientele and skills build.

Pricing reflects experience level, which is why you’ll see “starting from” numbers above. Whoever you book, the standard we hold them to is the same. If you want a specific stylist, tell us who; if you want our help matching you, tell us that instead and we’ll suggest someone based on what you’re trying to do.

Products we use

We color with Wella and finish with Kérastase, R+Co, and Wella products. If you’ve invested in color, the shampoo and conditioner you use between visits matter more than people think, and we’ll send you out with honest recommendations.

Who this salon is for

Everyone. All gender identities, all hair types, all backgrounds. Capitol Hill is one of Denver’s most diverse neighborhoods and we operate that way on purpose. If you’re growing out a transition, blending gray for the first time, or fixing a color that went sideways at home, you can book here without explaining yourself first.

Booking your color appointment

Same-day openings happen but they’re not the rule. For color, especially anything involving lift or correction, a few days of lead time gives us the best shot at scheduling enough chair time to do the work properly.

Book online or call (303) 953-2667. We’re at 670 Grant St in Capitol Hill, Denver, with street parking around the neighborhood.

While you’re planning, you might also want a cut at the same visit, or hair extensions if length or thickness is part of the goal.

FAQ

Starting prices: root retouch from $84, all-over color from $97, partial highlights from $140, full highlights from $167 (virgin), balayage from $194. Tone, gloss, and color correction are quoted at consultation because they depend on what’s currently on your hair.

Both. Blending softens gray into your natural color with highlights and lowlights so the grow-out is gentle. Full coverage masks gray completely with a root retouch or all-over color. We’ll talk through which one suits how much gray you have and how often you want to come in.

Any time we’re undoing or rebalancing previous color: removing an unwanted tone, fixing uneven lift, bringing a box-dye situation back into balance, or moving across a big tonal shift. Because every starting point is different, we price corrections in person after seeing your hair.

Most clients land somewhere in the 4 to 6 week range, but a lot depends on your natural color, your gray percentage, and how much regrowth bothers you visually.

Yes. Balayage starts at $194 and there’s a dedicated page for our painted, lived-in color work.
