For over 30 years...

The Parlour has been a leading salon in Colorado, starting in Boulder and most recently opening up in RiNo. Now, with eight locations, The Parlour hair salon is built on the solid foundation of creating an environment where team members can evolve into their best self and provide the highest level of technical service and customer service to our clients.

HOW WE GOT HERE

The Parlour believes you cannot make people good by law; we’re not interested in building a rulebook for the small percentage of people that want others to manage goodness into them. Instead we believe in free will (personal responsibility). It is the only thing that makes possible any goodness or joy worth having. Giving people the freedom to create their vision of their best self is our idea of success. The Parlour is similar to a 132 key piano; every key belongs, no wrong notes, no two keys with the same purpose. We’re at our absolute best when everyone is in tune and respectful of each other’s notes.

The great sin for us is to think we are cooler than the person in front of us. Whether it be a client, an employee or anyone we come into contact with, our definition of integrity is sticking up for others when they are not in the room. The Parlour believes in cultivating an environment where these philosophies shine.

How We Got Here

The Parlour Boulder

1989

The Parlour was born under tough circumstances, a dream died and a family was struggling. The choice was either find a job or roll the dice on ourselves. I sold my fancy watch, my Harley and borrowed some money. Finally, a signed a lease on the corner of Broadway and Walnut in Boulder and the parlOUR journey began.

Denver salon

1996

After seven years of building up our Boulder location and learning the ropes of owning a salon, The Parlour LoDo opens up in Denver, Colorado. This salon is located in historic lower downtown Denver, right across from Union Station.

1998

Michelle Smotherman, whom had been with The Parlour since day one, decided she wanted to be closer to home and an opportunity to partner up to open The Parlour Fort Collins became a reality. It was the beginning of our new business model that allowed the team to grow into partnerships.

The Parlour Highlands

2005

The fifth Colorado location and second Denver location opens up in the trendy, historic Highland Square. Partner, Phil Lombardo had aspired to own his own salon since he began at The Parlour in 1996. The Highlands neighborhood is nostalgic to Phil and it was a great area for The Parlour to grow.

The Parlour Wash Park

2010

An ambitious year for The Parlour as we open up two new locations. The first in West Wash Park with partners Julie Mustoffa and Stacey Joyce. Julie, being at The Parlour since day one, and Stacey since 1997, were long-time friends and had always loved the Wash Park neighborhood.

The Parlour Flatirons

2010

Evelyn Thoms and Kathleen Ross had known each other many years in The Parlour Boulder and had a large clientele in the Broomfield area, so opening up in Flatirons was a perfect fit.

2014

Opened up our fourth Denver location in Capitol Hill with Brooke and Estevan. Their passion for fashion and design make them both the best of friends and business partners.

The Parlour Hair Salon in RiNo Denver

2017

Our fifth location in Denver opened in the River North Art District. The dream for The Parlour RiNo was conceived by Libby, who began her career at The Parlour in 2003. Her passion and commitment have made her an amazing addition to our list of partners.

The Parlour Castle Rock

2019

Opened up our ninth location in Castle Rock from the dreams and adjustments of people coming together to pave a new road for a Parlour location south of Denver.

The Parlour Capitol Hill

2021

The Parlour Capitol Hill moved two blocks from the original location to a bigger space.
