What we cut
Everything, honestly, and we try to be honest about that instead of pretending we specialize in one look.
Women’s haircuts from $60. Bobs, lobs, layered long hair, shag, curly cuts, blunt cuts, pixies, and everything on the way to and from those. If you’re coming in for a real change, that’s a longer consultation, and we’ll set aside time for it.
Men’s haircuts from $60. Scissor cuts, tapers, fades, textured crops, longer men’s styles that need shape rather than clipper work. We do both, and we’ll ask what maintenance rhythm you’re comfortable with before we set the length.
Gender-affirming haircuts. Yes, plainly. If your look doesn’t match a “men’s cut” or a “women’s cut” template, that’s not a problem. You tell us what you want and we cut what you want. If you’re coming in for a haircut that’s part of a bigger change, we’ll listen to that too.
Kids 12 and under from $30. First haircuts, growing-out phases, cuts that need to survive a school year. Our stylists are patient. If your kid has never been in a salon chair before, tell us and we’ll set up the appointment to make it easier on them.
Curly haircuts. We take curl seriously and we cut curly hair curly, not stretched out and then hoping for the best. If curl is your main consideration, tell us at booking and we’ll match you with a stylist who has the eye for it.
Short cuts, long cuts, and everything in between. Pixies and buzzes get the same care as long, layered cuts. A five-minute maintenance trim on a bob is still a real haircut, and we treat it that way.
Starting prices are just that: starting. Longer hair, complicated shapes, and any add-on services move the price. We tell you the total before we start.
How our stylists get here
Every stylist at The Parlour finishes our Advanced Education Program after beauty school. That’s six to twelve months of in-house training plus two annual events with world-renowned guest artists. Then they start at Level 1 and grow with their clientele from there. It’s a real program, not an orientation, and it’s the reason our tiering works: the newer stylists have been formally taught by the salon they work in, and the senior stylists have been developing that same eye for years.
For Fort Collins clients specifically, that continuity means the salon’s cutting standard has held for a long time. It also means that if the stylist you started with years ago is no longer taking new appointments in your preferred window, the person you get booked with instead has come up through the same program.
Old Town is part of it
The salon has been at 309 E Mountain Ave since it opened. Old Town Fort Collins has changed a lot over that time, but the neighborhood role of our salon hasn’t. A lot of our Fort Collins clients walk over from work, park once for the afternoon and get a haircut plus something else on the block, or come in on a Saturday and treat the appointment like part of a longer trip into Old Town.
If you’re new to the area, we’re one block from Old Town Square. Easy to find, easy to park nearby, easy to build into whatever else you’re doing that day. We use Kérastase, Wella, and R+Co. If you like something we use in the chair, we can send you home with it. If it’s not right for your hair, we’ll tell you.
Who this salon is for
All hair types, all gender identities, all backgrounds. If you’ve felt out of place at other salons, that’s not what happens here.
