What we cut
Everyone, honestly. Women’s, men’s, gender-affirming, kids, short, long, and everything in between. Fine, medium, thick, straight, wavy, curly, coily. If your hair does something, we’ve cut it.
Women’s haircuts. Long layers, blunt bobs, lobs, shags, curtain bangs, pixies, mid-length shapes that grow out properly. Downtown clients often want a cut that reads polished at work and still looks like something on the weekend. We build for that.
Men’s haircuts. Scissor cuts, tapers, fades, clipper work, longer men’s shapes with definition. Bring a reference or come in and tell us what you’re going for. We’ll ask what maintenance rhythm you want before we set the length.
Gender-affirming haircuts. Yes. Plainly. All gender identities are welcome here, and we’ve been cutting hair this way for a long time. Bring a reference or describe what you want, and your stylist will build the shape with you.
Kids’ haircuts (twelve and under). Kids twelve and under start at $30. First haircuts, growing-out phases, cuts that need to survive a school year. Our stylists are patient with kids who don’t love the chair. Parents are welcome to sit close.
Curly and coily haircuts. Curly hair is its own thing. We consult first, dry or wet based on what makes sense for your hair, and cut for the shape your curl actually forms.
Short, long, and everything in between. A pixie gets the same real consultation as a long-hair trim. A five-minute maintenance shape is still a real haircut, and we treat it that way.
How our stylists are trained
Every stylist at The Parlour has completed our Advanced Education Program after beauty school. That’s six to twelve months of in-house training plus two annual events led by guest artists from the wider industry. Everyone starts at Level 1 and moves up as their clientele grows. Pricing reflects experience level. The quality standard does not.
That structure is why The Parlour has held a cutting standard across decades and across multiple Colorado locations. Whichever stylist you book, you’re booking someone who has been through the same training system.
Products and pairing
We finish and maintain hair with Kérastase and R+Co. Your stylist will send you home with a small, honest set of recommendations, not a full basket. If two products do the job, we’ll tell you two products.
Most clients get their cut and color from the same salon. Fresh color always looks better on a fresh shape. See Hair Color for the full color menu, or Balayage for painted work. If length or density is the goal, Hair Extensions, and mention extensions when you book so we can plan the appointment properly.
Downtown is part of it
The salon has been at 1736 Wynkoop St since 1996. LoDo has changed a lot around us over that time, but the salon’s role in the neighborhood hasn’t. Union Station is directly across the street, so the light rail, the train, and everything walkable from downtown puts us within an easy trip. Everyone welcome: all gender identities, all hair types, all backgrounds.
