The Parlour Capitol Hill
When I started doing hair: 2014
When I started at The Parlour: 2016
What inspires/motivates me in the industry:
In what seems like a different life, I once was a curator in the fine art world. After the economic crash, it was time for me to find something new. Here I am several years later and loving this new path. Such a perfect meld of art and personal connection. This industry is big, bold, and constantly adapting to changes in fashion, culture, art, even economics. It’s exciting to think of all there is to learn and discover within the hair industry, and the clients I have the pleasure to take care of.
What I am happiest doing:
When I am out of the salon, I try my hardest to travel. Either via a good book, movie or to a different place. Experiencing new places, cultures, and thoughts is so vitally important to my well being and for my growth in such a creative career. Plus it’s just fun!
Outside of that, you can find me in my garden, tackling one of our neverending house renovations, or drinking wine on the front porch with the husband and our monster of a puppy.
What I love most about The Parlour:
Education, education, education! From our in-house team to educators outside of The Parlour, there’s always an opportunity to learn.
What else you should know about me:
I drink too much coffee, I have a pretty big thing for outer space, I love Russian literature and 1970′s shag haircuts.
