What we cut
We cut everyone. That plainly means women’s, men’s, gender-affirming, kids, short, long, and everything in between. Fine, medium, thick, straight, wavy, curly, coily. If your hair does something, we’ve cut it.
Women’s haircuts. Long layers, blunt bobs, lobs, shags, curtain bangs, pixies, mid-length shapes that grow out properly. We spend real time on the consultation because a good cut has to match your face, your texture, and how you actually style at home.
Men’s haircuts. Scissor cuts, tapers, fades, clipper work, longer men’s shapes with definition. We do plenty of maintenance cuts and just as many bigger changes.
Gender-affirming haircuts. Yes. Plainly and without hedging. Whatever shape helps you feel like yourself, we’ll cut it. Bring a reference or come in and describe what you want. There is no version of this conversation we haven’t already had many times.
Kids’ haircuts (twelve and under). Kids twelve and under start at $30. We’re patient with first haircuts and with kids who don’t love the chair. Parents are welcome to sit close.
Curly and coily haircuts. Curly hair is its own thing, and the cut has to respect the curl pattern. We consult first, dry or wet based on what makes sense for your hair, and cut for the shape your curl actually forms.
Longer hair, shorter hair, in-between hair. Same standard either way. A long-hair trim gets the same real consultation as a full pixie.
How our stylists are trained
Every stylist at The Parlour has completed our Advanced Education Program after beauty school. That’s six to twelve months of in-house training plus two annual events led by guest artists from the wider industry. Everyone starts at Level 1 and moves up as their clientele grows. Pricing reflects experience level. The quality standard does not. Whichever level you book, you’re getting someone who has been through the same training system.
That’s how a Boulder salon lasts since 1989. Not with tricks, not with a single celebrity stylist. With a training pipeline that keeps producing careful, opinionated, technically strong hairdressers.
Products and pairing
We finish and maintain hair with Kérastase and R+Co. Your stylist will send you home with a small, honest set of recommendations, not a full basket. If two products do the job, we’ll tell you two products.
Most clients get their cut and color from the same salon, and that’s the plan we recommend. Fresh color always looks better on a fresh shape. Boulder-owned, Boulder-rooted
The Parlour is Colorado-owned and Colorado-grown, and Boulder is the founding location. We are not a chain that showed up here. We are a Boulder salon that later opened other salons. That story matters to us and it matters to a lot of our clients.
